    1. The Lenovo Ideapad Z500 that i have Listed above would be a Better buy if Gaming is on Focus, The GT740M is a better Graphic card, the 650M is not better than 740M, the 740 will help you more with newer Games, its optimized for New releases, so check the Z500 listed above once more.

    2. yea i too have the same conception..bt have read some threads in tomshardware and notebookcheck.there they were saying the performance GT 650M surpasses the GT 740M

      Delete
    3. and i have compared both the cards in game debate for some games and GT 650M has got 4% upperhand than 740m.i guess its not much the difference..

    4. My mind goes heavily on samsung cuz IMO i liked it than the lenovo z500 and it has bluray drive and a bigger screen, the most important thing for me

      Delete
    5. Screen size is same - 15.6 inches. The resolution is more that will give even less gaming Performance on samsung.

      Delete
    6. my bad.yea screen size is same.sorry to contradict you,bt i guess GT 650m can cope up the slightly higher resolution.cuz of the resolution, bluray drive and longer battery running times im inclined towards samsung.any ways thanks for your suggestion.will keep that in mind

  2. any comments on the HP Envy 15-J048TX under the Rs 70000.....

    1. When comparing b/w lenevo Y500 and HP envy 15-J048TX ....
HP has a better processor(4th gen) whereas Y500 has a better graphics card
both have same amt of ram, screen res, storage
      HP envy is lighter
What other parameters have u looked at and rated Y500 as the best in the category under 70000.....

Also b/w Y500 & Y510 ....Y510 obviously has the upper hand (only 5k more) ....Do u think there will be a performance drop in Y510 considering it has a full HD display especially while gaming

    2. When we Compare Hp Envy 15-j048TX and Y500, Many things go in Y500's favor, sure Y500 is heavier, but Envy has no DVD Drive, has an Ultrabook design, i.e. not designed for heavy Gaming uses, you can expect Heating issues, whereas Y500 is solely for the Purpose of Gaming, and is known to handle heavy heating easily, whereas i can't see how that Hp Envy can keep the heat at bay with that slim Profile and so much stacked inside.
The 4th Gen Processor is not so much better than the 3rd gen that we ignore other shortcomings of HP envy 15-J048TX.

And Between Y500 and Y510, Y510 is sure to experience Frames drops heavily as Gaming on 1080p relies heavily on Graphic card, and on 768p the gaming relies on both i.e. GPU/CPU.

      Delete
    3. Since the y500 is discontinued (except last few remaining on flipkart), the envy 15 j048tx is the best option!

  8. Hello Anurag I'm looking to buy a gaming laptop under Rs.40000. Will the suggested Lenovo Essential G505s be able to play Modern Games at even Mid Settings?? And what are your thoughts on HP Pavilion 15-e026AX??

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. That Lenovo G505s with A10 linked above can easily play Games at Medium-high at 768p Resolution, but this HP Pavilion 15-e026AX is also good at the same price with almost same specifications, in the end its your choice whether you want to buy Lenovo or HP.

      Delete
    2. Ok thank you. But which brand would you suggest?? Lenovo??

  9. Hello Anurag, I've researched a bit more and I've changed my mind into increasing my budget to about 46-47k and the HP Pavilion 15-n012tx is what I'm thinking of buying right now. What impresses most is the 740M in this laptop. Are there any other laptops with this GPU at this price range?? I'm not being able to find any. I guess even 3rd gen i5 won't be bad with this gpu for gaming.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. At a price lesser than this of course. :)

      Delete
    2. Only this is best ofcourse HP Pavilion 15-n012TX, another good one at low budget is this HP Pavilion 15-e026AX, if you want something at low budget and not intent on Intel only. Otherwise that first one at 47k is best.

      Delete
    3. Actually I definitely want that 740M. I don't think the 8670M is strong enough. Btw HP Pavilion 15-n012TX though 4th gen, has an ULV processor. Would that impact the performance alot?? I do a lot of programming and it requires the use of Virtual machines. How would that fare?? Thanks again for helping so much ..:)

  15. hi anu,
i'm in a dilemma between asus k55vm-sx086d and lenovo z500(59-380463). i like playing games but never had the rig which can run heavy games. so i cant say whether i'm a hardcore gamer or not! i dont have any graphic intensive task. just some work on databases(oracle, sql server, etc). I want to know is it worth to spend 7000 more for z500 and ignore the corei7 or the gt630m is enough to handle current and future games and go with the asus.
    thanks in advance,

    1. Yes, 630M is enough for Games and Normal usage.

    2. but in your other threads you've mentioned that there is no point in purchasing the 6xx graphic card. even i've also decided to buy the z500, but now that you are suggesting 630m i'm back to square one! please help me as i'm planning to buy this sunday.

    3. But you said that you don't want to run Graphic intensive tasks, so for your Processing tasks, i7 is better (k55vm), if you want more emphasis on gaming then go ahead with Z500.
