hello anurag...i want to buy a gaming laptop and my budget is around 50k.i have done some research and finally came btw lenovo ideapad Z500 (59-380463) and samsung NP550P5C S06IN. BT looking at the specs samsung has an upper hand.some suggestion needed btw these two
ReplyDeleteThe Lenovo Ideapad Z500 that i have Listed above would be a Better buy if Gaming is on Focus, The GT740M is a better Graphic card, the 650M is not better than 740M, the 740 will help you more with newer Games, its optimized for New releases, so check the Z500 listed above once more.
Deleteyea i too have the same conception..bt have read some threads in tomshardware and notebookcheck.there they were saying the performance GT 650M surpasses the GT 740M
DeleteOn Older Games only.
Deleteand i have compared both the cards in game debate for some games and GT 650M has got 4% upperhand than 740m.i guess its not much the difference..
DeleteMy mind goes heavily on samsung cuz IMO i liked it than the lenovo z500 and it has bluray drive and a bigger screen, the most important thing for me
DeleteScreen size is same - 15.6 inches. The resolution is more that will give even less gaming Performance on samsung.
Deletemy bad.yea screen size is same.sorry to contradict you,bt i guess GT 650m can cope up the slightly higher resolution.cuz of the resolution, bluray drive and longer battery running times im inclined towards samsung.any ways thanks for your suggestion.will keep that in mind
Deleteany comments on the HP Envy 15-J048TX under the Rs 70000.....
ReplyDeleteWhen comparing b/w lenevo Y500 and HP envy 15-J048TX ....
DeleteHP has a better processor(4th gen) whereas Y500 has a better graphics card
both have same amt of ram, screen res, storage
HP envy is lighter
What other parameters have u looked at and rated Y500 as the best in the category under 70000.....
Also b/w Y500 & Y510 ....Y510 obviously has the upper hand (only 5k more) ....Do u think there will be a performance drop in Y510 considering it has a full HD display especially while gaming
When we Compare Hp Envy 15-j048TX and Y500, Many things go in Y500's favor, sure Y500 is heavier, but Envy has no DVD Drive, has an Ultrabook design, i.e. not designed for heavy Gaming uses, you can expect Heating issues, whereas Y500 is solely for the Purpose of Gaming, and is known to handle heavy heating easily, whereas i can't see how that Hp Envy can keep the heat at bay with that slim Profile and so much stacked inside.
DeleteThe 4th Gen Processor is not so much better than the 3rd gen that we ignore other shortcomings of HP envy 15-J048TX.
And Between Y500 and Y510, Y510 is sure to experience Frames drops heavily as Gaming on 1080p relies heavily on Graphic card, and on 768p the gaming relies on both i.e. GPU/CPU.
Since the y500 is discontinued (except last few remaining on flipkart), the envy 15 j048tx is the best option!
DeleteAnurag can you suggest non gaming laptop under 50 k !!! for programming and movie purpose !!!
ReplyDeleteWat about the touchpad issues with the y500??
ReplyDeleteTouchpad issues were there in only the newest Batch, not in all.
DeleteI want to buy a laptop before diwali for 45k...choices 1.hp pavillion n012t 2.dell inspiron 5521 3.hp e039tx?
ReplyDeleteSuggest the best laptop under 45k...if u think that my choices are not good please correct...
1.Hp pavillion n012tx(i5 4th gen/4gb/1tb/2gb nvidia/3year onsite warrnaty alongwith I year cc)
2.Dell inspiron 15R 5521(i5 3rd gen/4gb/1tb/2gb ati/1 year cc)
3.hp pavillion e039tx(i5 3rd gen mobile processr not ulv/4gb/1tb/2gb/3year warranty)
This Looks best at this budget with 740M 2GB and 4th gen i5, Hp pavillion 15-n012tx and with the current Diwali offers at Flipkart, it looks like a good Buy, i would suggest you to buy this only.
DeleteHi,I am looking for a laptop under 50k,I am not a gaming freak but intend to run computationaly intensive application like nastran and abaqus.pls suggest me a laptop.Need atleast 8gb of ram
ReplyDeleteAsus K55VM will help you in this regard, i use it currently and you can be assured that those heating issues were with newest batches, not the current stock.
DeleteThanks buddy
DeleteDude shall i still go with the same laptop u suggested or u have any better laptop to recommend.
DeleteYeah go with the Same, as i can't see any more new laptops better than the above suggestions, that's why i didn't publish new laptop buying guide for November.
DeleteThank you so much

ReplyDeleteCan u shed some light on the above issue
Hello Anurag I'm looking to buy a gaming laptop under Rs.40000. Will the suggested Lenovo Essential G505s be able to play Modern Games at even Mid Settings?? And what are your thoughts on HP Pavilion 15-e026AX??
ReplyDeleteThat Lenovo G505s with A10 linked above can easily play Games at Medium-high at 768p Resolution, but this HP Pavilion 15-e026AX is also good at the same price with almost same specifications, in the end its your choice whether you want to buy Lenovo or HP.
DeleteOk thank you. But which brand would you suggest?? Lenovo??
Deleteyes Lenovo
DeleteOk thanks. :)
DeleteHello Anurag, I've researched a bit more and I've changed my mind into increasing my budget to about 46-47k and the HP Pavilion 15-n012tx is what I'm thinking of buying right now. What impresses most is the 740M in this laptop. Are there any other laptops with this GPU at this price range?? I'm not being able to find any. I guess even 3rd gen i5 won't be bad with this gpu for gaming.
ReplyDeleteAt a price lesser than this of course. :)
DeleteOnly this is best ofcourse HP Pavilion 15-n012TX, another good one at low budget is this HP Pavilion 15-e026AX, if you want something at low budget and not intent on Intel only. Otherwise that first one at 47k is best.
DeleteActually I definitely want that 740M. I don't think the 8670M is strong enough. Btw HP Pavilion 15-n012TX though 4th gen, has an ULV processor. Would that impact the performance alot?? I do a lot of programming and it requires the use of Virtual machines. How would that fare?? Thanks again for helping so much ..:)
DeleteNot Much Difference, or almost same Performance.
DeleteOkay cool. :)
DeleteWhich is best buy for gaming, PS6 and,Autodesk Maya 3D animation etc. Samsung NP550P5C-S04IN or lenovo-ideapad-z500 .... Plz figure out differences and give a shot plz ... My budget is under 55k if any better laptod in this range suggest that too .. Have a great day waiting for ur reply bro :D
ReplyDeleteThe 6xx generation of cards is not worth buying now.
Deleteawesome bro! thanks for that Lightning reply .. have a great day :D
Deletehi anurag. i would like to buy laptop under 35k...
ReplyDelete1st prfrnce is Lenovo Essential G505s (59-379862) Laptop (APU Quad Core A8/ 8GB/ 1TB/ DOS/ 2.5GB Graph)
and the 2nd is Hp Pavilion G6-2301ax Laptop Apu Quad Core A8/ 4gb/ 500gb/ Win8/ 2.5gb Graph
i am confused ...help
any good laptop of asus? becaus i hav heard it has a very good technlgy.. i want laptop fr gaming use only
DeleteYes i would suggest you to go with Lenovo G505s that i have liked above in post.
DeleteI want to buy a laptop within 50k....
ReplyDeleteI have finalized hp pavillion n012tx...kindly suggest if it is a good choice or not....suggest other laptops in this range....I want a laptop which is slim and light and has a long life....I want mobility and durabilitu....plzz suggest
Also tell does i5 4200u a ulv processr clockd at 1.6ghz will cause any problems
DeleteYeah that ulv Processor will affect Performance, and Multitasking, i would suggest you HP Pavilion 15-e026AX for Multitasking, and if you want Gaming then you may go with HP Pavilion 15-n012TX
DeleteI need a gaming laptop undr 45 k, i5 3rd gen, 8gb ram, 2gb ddicatd nvidia 645 M +2 .6 GHz + turbo boost no heat problems no cons it sud b abl 2 play crisis 3 bf 4 in high definition's mid point I dont lyk Dell or hp or Toshiba or Sony or Lenovo
ReplyDeleteI was looking for a laptop aroung 50k ... i have short listed Samsung NP350V5C-S08IN, HP Envy M6-1214TX and Asus K55VM-SX086D but i cannot decide which one would give me the best performance in gaming as well as the normal user... pls help.!
ReplyDeleteHp Envy is better priced and offers best hardware for you use, check this Link - HP Pavilion 15-n012TX
Deletehi anu,
ReplyDeletei'm in a dilemma between asus k55vm-sx086d and lenovo z500(59-380463). i like playing games but never had the rig which can run heavy games. so i cant say whether i'm a hardcore gamer or not! i dont have any graphic intensive task. just some work on databases(oracle, sql server, etc). I want to know is it worth to spend 7000 more for z500 and ignore the corei7 or the gt630m is enough to handle current and future games and go with the asus.
thanks in advance,
swayam
Yes, 630M is enough for Games and Normal usage.
Deletebut in your other threads you've mentioned that there is no point in purchasing the 6xx graphic card. even i've also decided to buy the z500, but now that you are suggesting 630m i'm back to square one! please help me as i'm planning to buy this sunday.
Deleteswayam
But you said that you don't want to run Graphic intensive tasks, so for your Processing tasks, i7 is better (k55vm), if you want more emphasis on gaming then go ahead with Z500.
DeleteWhich is better AMD 8670M vs NVIDIA 720M as many forums suggests AMD outperforms. I want specifically know how well AMD 8670M performs while gaming.
ReplyDeleteAMD 8670 outperforms 720M by a huge margin, 720 is not even for Gaming, its a GPU for just non-gaming tasks.
DeleteThanks. As I am planning to buy HP Pavilion 15-e015tx (with AMD 8670M), I wanted to know whether it is good enough play 2012 games as notebook check shows it gives low fps.
DeleteHey i am planning to buy hp pavillion 15-no12tx
ReplyDeleteJust tell me about its all problems?
Clock speed and multitasking problems?
Heating problems and all? Battery backup?
Or i should go for Dell inspiron 15R 5537(with same specs but only having amd graphics) or any other alternative .
I use internet whole day , listen music and casual gaming like fifa , cod etc
Thanks in advance :)
HP Pavilion 15-n012tx is better :)
Deletecheck this link, the Nvidia 740M card is better HP Pavilion 15-n012TX
DeleteWhat about problems i asked?
No Heating Problems that i know of, and Multitasking should be good too, and as its the new Haswell Processor, so expect better Battery backup.
Deleteand as you said you are a casual Gamer, it will suffice you fully.
Ok! Thanks mate
DeleteLooking forward to buy hp
Hi....i am looking to buy a gaming laptop under rs 45000...i want to buy lenovo g505s but i have heard it has a lot of heating problems......the other alternatives for me are...hp g6 2312 ax and hp 15 n007 ax....which one in these three is the best according to you. ??
ReplyDeleteI would suggest you this, better than the others HP Pavilion 15-e026AX
DeleteBut what about graphic card..??
Deletethese have 2 gb dedicated graph compared to 1 gb graph in hp 15 e 026ax
Thanks for helping
DeleteWhich laptop will be better in overall performance, display, sound in 70k budget ; Samsung np550p5c s05in [i7] or lenovo ideapad y500 single graphics model, i have no planning to buy any extra gpu,pls help. also how much difference in gaming performance of y510p [single gpu model] from the these two?
ReplyDeleteY510 would be better as of now, Y500 would be old and won't have driver support from Lenovo and Performance would be better too, and if you are trying to buy from Flipkart better check the specifications first and order from WS Retail (Flipkart), Lenovo Ideapad Y510
DeleteHey Anurag can you recommend a good laptop for a mechanical engineering student keeping in mind the softwares like cad pro e solidworks ,etc should run smoothly amd battery backup is also a factor.
ReplyDeleteI would suggest you to go with HP Pavilion 15-e026AX or Lenovo Essential G505s if you are low on Budget and if you can spend upto 50k then Lenovo Ideapad Z500.
Deletehey anurg, wat is the original rs of Z500 (59-380463) I won't b buyin it online so tell me d exct price n i heard d the battery in z500 can't b replaced wid a new 1 is dt true? n would gt 740 prform mch byte den GT 730 wid 2gb?
ReplyDeletehey anurag .. suggest me a loptop under 35000 for daily use without gaming i.e movies ..powerpoint excel ...and other basic chores Hdd 1TB.. Thanks
ReplyDeleteCheck the G505s in above post.
DeleteI want a 4th Gen Ci7 with nVidia gtx 750M graphics in budget of 55K can i get it?
ReplyDeleteI am afraid the cheapest you can get a Laptop like this is Lenovo Y500.
DeleteHi Anurag,
ReplyDeleteI am planning to purchase HP Pavilion 15-ex016tx (http://www.flipkart.com/hp-pavilion-15-e016tx-laptop-3rd-gen-ci5-4gb-1tb-win8-2gb-graph/p/itmdn4d9fyrfv6xt)
Could you Please let me know it is good in perf especially in gaming? Also let me know if there is any heating problems and any cons regarding display/audio/battery.
My buget is 50K if above laptop is not good suggest me better laptop.
Thanks
Pulkit
But I feel HP Pavilion 15-n012TX has lower clock rate(1.7-2.6GHZ), So I am prefering HP Pavilion 15-ex016tx .Still your insights would be helpful, how about HP Pavilion 15-ex016tx?
DeleteClock rate doesn't matter for normal usage, number of threads and IPC matters, the one which i suggested has better IPC, same number of threads, less TDP (saves battery) etc.
DeleteI would suggest you HP Pavilion 15-n012TX only.
and Buy from WS Retail only as one of friends ordered from some other seller and got a dead out of box laptop , and seller was very uncooperative.
DeleteOk.Thanks :)
DeleteHey I wanna going to buy HP Pavilion 15-e016tx .
ReplyDeletePlease give its review and how well its gaming performance.
I only doubt AMD Graphics Performance of HP Pavilion 15-E016tx is it worth enough play modern games?
DeleteYes it is capable, its comparable to 740M
DeleteHi anurag,
ReplyDeleteReally impressed with this guide.
I want to buy a quad core i7 laptop and my budget is 50k.Graphic card is no issue as i am not a gamer. So graphic card can be compromised. What are the possible options that i have other than asus k55v.
Thanks..
Not really much options then, as you are not a Gamer, i would suggest you to go with K55VM only, as this has the best Processor in Non-Gaming laptops.
DeleteI am planning to buy
ReplyDeletewww.snapdeal.com/product/dell-inspiron-17r-n5720-laptop/2027477810?pos=1;4
when it is back in stock.
Is it a good option.
But the thing is that its price is a bit alarming with the kind of specs offered....
Not sure that is a Reputed seller, and if that will ever come in stock again.
DeleteJust waiting for it to come back in stock.....Seller score is 4.9/5
ReplyDelete:D
am planning to buy a laptop under the price of rs.50000,i do lots of gaming n watch movies.i have shortlisted HP Pavilion 15-n012TX and Lenovo Ideapad Z500 (59-380480) .,which of these two is the best for me.please recommend one from these two or from others also.
ReplyDeleteThese are the best Laptops in the same Budget, and HP has a cheaper price, but Lenovo has a better Durability in Laptops. So If you can spare some more then Buy Lenovo, otherwise HP laptop are good too, but some users have had some reliability issues with them.
DeleteI'm planning to get a lenovo essential 505s
ReplyDeleteIs it good for games like flight simulator which require a very good computer to function properly
planing for buy business laptop , which one is good hp probook 650 or dell Vostro 2520 with 4GB ram , I3 third generation with 500 GB hard disk , or any other , please suggest .....
ReplyDeleteDell vostro would be a better choice.
